They are 3 RUSH fanatics who’s attention to the details and nuances of RUSH music allow them to re-create an extremely accurate rendition of the original trio's music. The band covers ALL eras of Rush, from the first album, to their latest CD. They have opened up for many national acts, including ASIA, STYX, HEART, DOOBIE BROS, and even RUSH!!! (well sort of). Many fans claim if you close your eyes, you would swear it’s the real thing! Come out to see and hear for yourself: ANIMATION-A TRIBUTE TO RUSH!!

Who: Tony Germann
Plays: Guitar (the 6 string kind), Synth Petals (with kewl and wacky
soundz), Vocals
From: Born long ago in a galaxy far, far away (they call it “Chicago,
Illinois” – the ‘s’ is silent)
Member since: July, 2009
History: Tony can play guitar, banjo, and a little ukulele. His greatest
influences were awesome acts like The Monkees, The Singing Nun, Tiny Tim, and
Greg Brady. Of course, he sounds nothing like them but could if he wanted to! He
has been playing guitar since Jimmy Carter was president (ouch!). There have
been too many bands in his past to count but they ranged in almost every style
except country (thank goodness!).
Gear: Guitars: PRS Custom 24, Martin EM-10 Electric (yes friends, a
Martin electric guitar from 1980), Ibanez Junior Les Paul (my first guitar that
I rarely use), Taylor 814-CE acoustic, Alvarez Acoustic (that I rarely use),
Yamaha Classical. Sorry, I don’t own a banjo…yet.
Effects and things: Boss GT-8 Multi Effects Processor (has most
everything I need), Roland PK-5A Dynamic Midi Pedal, Reason 4.0 in a Dell PC for
all synth and sample sounds, Shure PGX-4 Wireless, Peavey Mixer, Countryman
DI’s, a lot of these cord thingies, some batteries that work most of the time,
and a partridge in a pear tree.
Amps and stuff: I run unique stereo set up. One side goes direct out to
the mixer from the GT-8 using whatever amp model I am using. The other side runs
to the power amp section of a Mesa Boogie DC-10 combo. A Carvin 4x12 (which is
miked) is connected to the Boogie. The Boogie speakers and a Mackie monitor
serve as stage monitors for guitar sounds. The Dell PC also runs to the mixer
meaning the Mackie also serves as a stage monitor for the synth sounds. If it
all works right, and I pray real hard, all the sound man has to do is connect to
the DI’s, the mixer, mic the amp, and away we go!
